Meet Bob

Bob Smythe has spent his life serving others. Whether serving as a classroom teacher who has spent a career serving some of our most challenged communities, or as a second generation first responder, Bob Smythe has been there when our families, seniors and communities needed him the most.

Delaware County Service

Born and Raised in the District

  • Springfield High School graduate


  • Ten years’ experience as a classroom educator servicing some of our area’s most in need students in some of our most economically challenged school districts
  • Taught every grade from Kindergarten to Seniors in high school
  • Coached multiple sports and created several after school programs and clubs
  • Selected to present on positive interventions for behavior challenges in two separate state conferences for Educational Professionals

First Responder

  • Second generation first responder
  • 15 plus years’ experience in the Fire Service
  • Currently serving as a Captain in the Springfield Fire Company Worked to develop and implement the SFC’s first Cadet program for those 14 and older
  • Numerous state and national emergency service certifications
